TPS pour les Haïtiens : la juge Ana C. Reyes maintient sa décision
La juge fédérale américaine Ana C. Reyes a refusé, jeudi 12 février 2026, de suspendre sa décision empêchant la fin du Statut de protection temporaire (TPS) pour les ressortissants haïtiens aux États-Unis. Cette position permet de maintenir les protections pour plusieurs centaines de milliers de bénéficiaires pendant la poursuite de la procédure judiciaire.
Lors d’une audience tenue à Washington, la magistrate a rejeté la demande du gouvernement américain visant à lever le sursis bloquant la suppression du programme. Sa décision signifie que la tentative de mettre fin au TPS demeure sans effet juridique durant l’examen de l’appel, permettant ainsi aux bénéficiaires de conserver leur autorisation de travail et leur protection contre la détention ou la déportation.
En conséquence, environ 350 000 Haïtiens vivant sur le territoire américain conservent leur statut pour le moment, tandis que le dossier poursuit son parcours devant la juridiction d’appel fédérale.
